The season draws to a close – in the bathtub again.
What They Say:
A hot boy mermaid named Wakasa has taken over the bath of a teenage boy named Tatsumi! This cute but selfish freeloader is a perfect match for the cool but tender and caring Tatsumi. Let’s see how they get by together!

With the final episode of the season, we get some fun as Wakasa, who is certainly enjoying TV, has decided that he wants a job so he can get things. That’s tough to do considering who he is, so we see how Tatsumi tries to get him to do things like contests and the like to get what he wants. Of course, understanding how work, contests and other things work is disheartening to him since he’s all about the instant gratification. There’s a bit more to it as it goes on because Wakasa is feeling like he’s not pulling his weight here when it comes to securing his own food, but it has some nice moments as it plays out with Tatsumi’s words of being friends makes a real impact on Wakasa, which is certainly a nice – and fun – way to draw the season to a close.
This series was definitely a fun one to have over the past season. Short form shows can be real hit or miss but this one generally found an unused angle overall, at least in the trappings, and it avoided being a highly frenetic series that exhausts you. You got a decent bit of character material overall, a nice bit of variety along the way and a rather enjoyable friendship to watch as it played out. I’m certainly not averse to another run of this property to be sure, but it’s also the kind of show that if it goes on too long it starts to overstay its welcome a bit. Definitely a fun work and one that’s easy to digest in marathon form.
