With a good number of folks present from the production of the new Space Battleship Yamato 2199 anime feature on hand, the December 6th, 2014 film was given a title of Hoshi-Meguru Hakobune, aka Star-Voyaging Ark. As part of the 40th anniversary unveiling in Tokyo this week, it was also announced that chief director Yutaka Izubuchi would be coming back to the production that will be animated by Xebec. The new film when it lands in December will be getting a full national theatrical release as opposed to a limited set of theaters. The compilation film will be limited to event screenings.
