‘Ajin’ Manga Getting TV Anime Series With Netflix Included

‘Ajin’ Manga Getting TV Anime Series With Netflix Included It’s an interesting time for the manga series Ajin as there’s a film trilogy in the works, the first one of which lands in November, and now a TV series is being scheduled for a winter 2016 debut. The new series doesn’t have any information on it in terms of cast and staff, but according to the announcement it sounds like the series aims to be a more faithful adaptation of Gamon Sakurai’s horror series. The show is getting a TV broadcast with several networks listed such as MBS and TBS in Japan but it also made it clear that it’ll be getting Netflix streaming as well – which we might see being brought through other Netflix services around the world.

The manga has been doing well in Japan since it launched in 2012 and it’s gotten some solid acclaim here since Vertical began publishing it. The timing works well for them too as the fifth volume of the manga came out earlier this week, bringing them largely up to date. Crunchyroll is handling the digital presentation of the series, making it available to a large number of fans.

Plot concept: High school student Kei Nagai is struck dead in a grizzly traffic accident, but immediately revives to learn that he may not be like every other human. Instead, he may be a mysterious almost immortal being granted not only the powers of rejuvination but the abilities to see super-natural beings. Scared, he runs away, and is aided in his escape from society by his friend. Unfortunately for Kei, the manhunt is on and he will soon be caught within a conflict between mankind and others like him as they prepare to fight a new war based on terror.
