The second promotional video for the series has arrived alongside the announcement that The Oral Cigarettes will be performing the opening theme for it while Tia will be doing the ending them. The promo highlights the opening theme throughout it, which certainly sets the energy for it alongside some gorgeous looking visuals.
The show will be directed by Kotaro Tamura based on scripts by Deko Akao along with character designs by Toshihiro Kawamoto. BONES handled the animation production for it.
The season is set to work the Biashamon arc of the manga which focuses on the war god of the same name.
The series stars Hiroshi Kamiya as Yato, Maaya Uchida as Hiyori Iki, Yuuki Kaji as Yukine, Miyuki Sawashiro as Bishamon, Jun Fukuyama as Kazuma, Aki Toyosaki as Kofuku, Daisuke Ono as Daikoku, Toru Ohkawa as Tenjin, Asami Imai as Mayu, Rie Kugimiya as Nora, Hisako Tojo asAiha, Takanori Hoshino asKugaha and Ryotaro Okiayu as Ebisu.
The first season of the series was picked up for North American release by FUNimation at the end of 2014 and they released it in the summer of 2015 in DVD/BD combo form.
Plot concept: Yato may just be a minor god now, but he’s determined to make it big and he’s got a plan. Unfortunately, things just don’t seem to be going his way. He doesn’t have a single shrine dedicated to him, his partner has just quit, and now he’s got to find a new divine weapon. Just when things look bleak, he meets a girl named Hiyori and changes her life forever.
It’s been about a month since we learned about the anime adaptation of the web manga series Million Doll from Ai and now a little more information has surfaced. Through the official Twitter account, it’s been revealed that Aina Kusuda and Miku Ito will be playing the leads in the series, though which characters they’re playing is still to be revealed for the summer 2015 anime series. Kusuda is best known for her work as Nozomi Tojo in Love Live! while Ito showed up recently as Nanko Usami in Locodol.
Keiichiro Kawaguchi will direct the show based on scripts by Momoko Murakami. Kawaguchi has a solid list of works behind him, with two shows last year with Dragon Collection and Jinsei, but a lot of his works aren’t shows that have been picked up for release. Murakami has several shows in their recent credits such as Magical Warfare and Locodol.
The series began back in 2013 and can be found here online to read. The project is being headed by Asahi Production for the animation and since it revolves around idols, it’s going to work the casting through public auditions, which certainly makes sense. The series is being planned for a July premiere date and several events are being planned in Japan to promote the show and those that end up being cast in it.
Plot concept: The story revolves around Sūko, an idol-loving hikikomori (shut-in) who has one ability: To make any idol popular through the power of blogging. She puts her sights on the Fukuoka idol Itorio and tries to make her sell more, but she is impeded by the charismatic idol Ryūsan and the underground idol Mariko. The author of the manga is an idol otaku herself.
