The fate of the Justice League Dark film has been murky for some time, especially with Guillermo del Toro involved and his projects being all over the map, Warner Bros. and producer Scott Rudin are seemingly closer to getting this project off the ground. According to the Tracking Board site, the film has now entered the phase of tweaking the script that was submitted by del Toro and advances towards directors are going to be made soon. The plan is to film sometime in presumably late 2016.
The feature is expected to exist in the same world as the other DC Universe movies but separate from the mainline costumed heroes so it can do its own thing but work within the references.
Plot concept: A series of ancient tomes stolen by a madman hellbent on the destruction of humanity. When he learns of this, occult detective John Constantine seeks out a group of heroes that specialize in the mystic and arcane in order to save the world.
