Discotek Media has now revealed the formal release date of June 2nd, 2015 for Lupin the 3rd: From Siberia with Love, which a lot of fans know as the From Russia With Love, though it was going to get changed for obvious reasons. The film actually goes by another name as well as Bank of Liberty, so they had a few choices to work with. The feature will have the original Japanese language with English subtitles only as it brings the 1992 TV special that clocks in at 90 minutes out for fans for the first time in North America. The film was directed by Osamu Dezaki.
Plot concept: Lupin is after 500 tons of gold bullion that used to belong to the House of Romanov, the last rulers of the Russian Empire. His only clue is a code in an old book that a cipher machine has broken down to the words “Bank of Liberty.” As always, whenever Lupin’s involved, the situation gets complicated. This adventure takes him through the USA and Russia, with loads of action and classic Lupin-style escapades along the way.
